Last October, Sol Picó’s dance show Malditas Plumas received the Serra D’Or Critics Award in the Performing Arts category.

The Serra d’Or Critics Award is an award given annually by the Serra d’Or magazine, from Montserrat Abbey. It is a distinction without financial endowment, but it has achieved great prestige and renown in the Catalan cultural field, rewarding, in its different categories, a work published the previous year. It is not an award for people or works that must be presented as candidates, but the jury distinguishes the works that, within the Catalan cultural sphere, it considers to be worthy.

In the case of Malditas Plumas, the jury valued what they considered a “brilliant recreation of the historical affinity between the Paral•lel cabaret in Barcelona and the Parisian cabaret at the beginning of the 20th century, culminating a long and fruitful career as a choreographer and dancer.” The award ceremony for the Crítica Serra d’Or 2022 Awards, which this year celebrated its 56th edition, was held at the Espai Endesa in Barcelona and was attended by Fr. Abat Manel Gasch, Núria Mañé, director of the Publications of the Abbey of Montserrat, and the head of the editorial board of the magazine Serra d’Or, Francesc-Marc Álvaro.
